I needed my father's DD214, or separation papers, after his passing- for him to receive the final military honors awarded a veteran for his service to his country- the folding of the US flag, the presentation of the flag to our family, and the playing of Taps. Having been in real estate, I knew firsthand the nightmare associated with trying to get a veteran's DD214. I read about Touchstone, felt I had nothing to lose, placed my order, and crossed my fingers. The order went thru on Satuday, & almost immediately I got a confirmation from a real person, telling me they had received the order and would give it their utmost attention. Sunday someone called to clarify a minute detail, which assured me they were really paying attention! They told me they would have someone at the records hall first thing Monday morning, and saw no reason why they couldn't have it to me by Monday night. Monday afternoon about 4:00, I received a copy of the DD214 via email, along with a confirmation that a hard copy was following with FedEx, and gave me the tracking number. So to TouchStone- THANK YOU. We have finally been able to print the actual obituary and set a date for the memorial service- something we hadn't been able to do until we got the DD214. You cannot believe how unimaginably hard it is to have someone pass & know everyone's heard about it- and are running to the newspaper everyday for the obituary, only to find "Arrangements to be Announced" under the deceased's name. This has brought peace to us, his friends, and his family members, and most of all- allows us to give him this final honor that he never expected- but so much deserved. Thank you again. I feel the service has been good, as far as accomplishing the task, but I would not say this has been express service. [Each records repository - there are well over 100 facilities where veterans records may be located - has it\'s own internal processing over which we have zero control. Dr. Whinery\'s records happened to be located within a repository where delays, particularly during the holiday season, are common.]

I am incredible happy with my service. I was seeking to find proof of my father's identify, we were unable to locate a birth certificate in Germany, so we thought the Army 201 file may have a copy or at least a record of his US Naturalization citizenship. We ordered the 201 file and within 6 days we had the Army 201 file, we immediately ordered the Certified NATURALIZATION Document and had that in our hands within 2 days. I found your service useful, though the microfiche copy of my dd214 was hardly readable. [Our researcher assigned to Mr. Brunette\'s case reported, \"The copies provided are precise, exact copies of very poor microfiche originals. The hardcopies have been certified by NPRC which attests to their best available copy status.\" In the final analysis, our client awarded us 5 stars.]

As many of the clients are, we were really scurrying about trying to find my father-in-law's DD214 in time to provide a Naval Honor Guard for his funeral services. We had no military file number. Best $89 ever spent. I have two times during the last four years tried to obtain a copy of my DD214 through written request to the government records office. Both attempts resulted in a response stating that my file could not be found several months after I sent my request. I was somewhat skeptical after my failed attempts that Touchstone could deliver in 7 days. Not only did they deliver, but I received great updates as to the status of my order, an electronic copy of the document and two certified originals in the mail a couple of days later. I recommend giving this service a try to anyone who has had difficulties getting a copy of a DD214.

First, let me say that you have lived up to the reputation that precedes you; for no one has ever retrieved anything from ARPERCEN in St. Louis this fast. I know this for a fact because I\'ve tried to have it done in the past, and even the active Reserve component couldn\'t get any of my records in the short period of time like your agency has! Kudos & congrats. I do have one area of concern because I spoke to a local Army recruiter, and they activated what is known as a REDD report on me. It shows that I have Reserve duty status that ended in 2003, and I need a set of orders from my DA 201 file that states my discharge in that year. When I spoke to Martin I was made to understand that your agency looks for either the last set of discharge orders, or all discharge orders that are in my records. If you have done this, then there is no problem and I appreciate the professional service that you provided as well as the speedy time that my request was expedited in. If there was an oversight, then I would greatly appreciate it if the search can made again to ensure that there was nothing missed. I will tell you that I\'m going to keep your information in my files, so that I can not only use your agency in the future if needed, but I will recommend you to anyone I know that needs to have their records retrieved as well.
