I've always been leery about internet transactions. Yet, in terms of service, outstanding. I needed some medical discharge papers along with my DD214. I couldn't get it from the VA, they said to contact the archives, and the archives said to contact the VA. One big hassle..but talk about same day delivery, they had all my personal information by noon, by five, later that day, and my personal information which I've been trying to get for weeks was in my e-mail. I placed an order with Touchstone for an emergency rush copy of my DD Form 214 on Thursday evening 04-28-11. I spoke with military archives the following Monday who informed me Touchstone's representative had picked up the form from them on Friday 04-29-11. Worried about getting the form in time for the closing on my new home, I called Touchstone and spoke to Jasen on Monday 05-02-11. He was very helpful and sent an email to the representative assigned to my request reiterating the urgency. I woke up this morning, Tuesday 05-03-11 to a pleasant surprise. I received an email yesterday evening from Touchstone with a link to download a certified copy of my DD Form 214. Thank you so much for your quick response in assisting me with my father's DD214. The funeral home needed proof of his military service. I tried to use the government website and after 3 hours of loops and a fax number that didn't work I turned to you. The prompt receipt of my DD Form 214 was welcomed. I have no complaints with your service. My only suggestion would be to add contact information rather it be e-mail or phone to the person assigned to the task. The only reason for this is some concern of wondering it this was a scam or a true honest company.

I have a business assisting senior veteran families with VA benefits. In the past couple months I have sent 7-8 claimants to you. For most of them, Touchstone delivered as promised and the DD214 was sent in 7-14 days. This is appreciated. I am less satisfied with the service for Evelyn Yauk. It took six weeks to send a document, and when I emailed your customer service, it was three days later that Jasen emailed me back with what was basically a non-answer that didn't respond to my basic question about expectations. I realize that for some veterans, the DD214 is on file at the archives and can be retrieved quickly, and for others a record of services must be reconstructed. I need to set expectations with my clients. It would be a valuable improvement to your service if you could communicate with your clients whether the retrieval will be simple or complex early in the process. For the $89 we are paying, I feel that is a reasonable expectation of service. [Thank you for the repeat business.
